The New San Pancho Bridge is Open!

The bridge washed out on September 4, 2010. The new bridge opened on March 7, 2011. The sturdy new, wide bridge was completed in six months giving us all a break from fording the aroyo and crossing the river by the temporary pedestrian span. Which not many of us used anyway.

The finishing yet needs to be done: lights, railing, the eastbound lane on the Rt 200 side of the bridge and a few other details. But for all intents and purposes, we're back to "normal" with the main entrance to San Pancho.

If your memory needs refreshing on what it was like last September, you'll find photos and videos here and on my blog, and more details on that endless rain from my best friend Cele at Tecera Edad in San Pancho.
