Sept 9 - New Bridge Opens and Supplies Get Walked In

Thursday morning a new pedestrian bridge - replacing the bridge that was washed away Monday night - had been erected over the arroyo at San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico.

Water, milk, vegetables, propane tanks and more got walked across the bridge, with Artemio directing the one-way passage for those coming in and those taking stuff out. Cele's blog tells the story of this welcome sight.

Seeing trucks and buses heading south confirmed the news that Route 200 to Puerto Vallarta was passable, if not completely cleared.

At the beach mid-morning, there were two brave (reckless?) surfers near the huge pile of debris that is piling up offshore, San Pancho's new barrier reef. And the beach shows signs of heavy erosion.

The skies turned from cloudy to partly cloudy as the day wore. Just a trace of rain overnight.
