San Pancho's Malecon at the beach may not be as big as the one at Puerto Vallarta, but it is by far a much more serene and beautiful spot. When the Malecon was reconstructed as a community project and donation by Emerald Coast Development more than three years ago, it looked like a storybook scene.
These days, the area is kept clean and swept daily by those selling their wares there. But the iron lampposts were showing the ravages of time and vandalism. Some posts were starting to tilt because the lag bolts at the base were rusting out. Others had the large white globes broken by vandals and nature. And who would do anything about it?
Enter Trini and Gloria. As everyone knows, they operate La Playa at the beach and La Ola Rica restaurant in the pueblo, and they stepped up to do something about the deteriorating lampposts.
They hired workmen and bought the necessary hardware and lights to fix the lampposts and restore them to their original condition. Thanks to business people who care, San Pancho's Malecon is once again a beautiful area of our proud community.
